Dixie Dog Rescue

Dixie Dog Rescue was started in 2011 in response to the overwhelming need for a safer option for the many unwanted and abandoned dogs in the Toombs county area. We have a small on site shelter and several foster homes through out the state.

Rescue FAQs

We take in dogs from shelters all over the state of Georgia, as well as strays and owner surrenders in the Toombs county area as space allows. We welcome fosters and volunteers to help us save as many as possible! Many of our adoptable dogs are located in the Atlanta area.

Additional adoption info

Once an adoption application is completed and approved, vet references will be checked and a home visit will be done to ensure it is the best possible home for the dog. We require that all adopted dogs be inside with the family, and that all current pets be up to date on all vetting. Our adoption fee is $125, which includes spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchipping.
