We are a group committed to the rescue and adoption of companion birds.

The rescue is owned by the Greater Chicago Cage Bird Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes public education about pet birds and the placement of surrendered birds in qualified new homes.

Shelter FAQs

We adopt in the Chicagoland area and surrounding suburbs within an hour or two drive. We often require multiple visits before an adoption can be approved

We do NOT ship birds. Some birds may not be eligible for out-of-state adoptions due to Federal Regulations.

  • 3. Approve Application

Additional adoption info

Must complete a application and be approved by adoption committee. Must have a Vet reference. Must be able to show that you can handle the bird. Fees vary on size and age of bird.
