Rescue FAQs

Adopt-A-Stray was founded in Jan. 2010, by Kelley Prichard. Since then, it has grown to include a few wonderful volunteers who work very hard to help ensure that our pets are place in loving, forever homes. We are based in Alexander, AR, but we list all of our available pets in the northeast. We work with several different transporters to get our babies to their new homes in the northeast once they are adopted. The transporter we use most often Pack Leaders (www.plrdogtransport.com). All pets are given age appropriate vaccinations before they leave. Every pet is seen by our vet prior to transport. If you see a pet listed that interests you, please be sure to read the description thoroughly and inquire to the email address listed. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
Adopt A Stray is based in Arkansas. We are a small group of volunteers who take adoptable dogs from the kill shelters here and place them in foster homes until they are adopted. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport to get our babies to their forever homes in PA and surrounding areas.
