Greenville County Animal Care is dedicated to promoting the compassionate treatment of animals in our community through adoption, education, and affordable spay/neuter and veterinary care. We have the largest, most diverse selection of adoptable pets in the Upstate!
All of Greenville County, Spartanburg County and the Upstate of South Carolina.
Adoption steps
- Meet the PetYou can meet our pets by making an appointment or coming in during our walk-in hours (Monday-Saturday 12pm-5pm).
- Sign Adoption ContractOnce you meet the pet and its a good match, there's some paperwork that you will need to sign (most is completed digitally).
- Take the Pet HomeWe try to make as many pets ready to go home the same day you meet them so they get immediate love and cuddles from their new family!

Our $35 flat rate adoption fees are an amazing value!
All adoptions will include the following:
* Spay/Neuter
* Vaccines
* Heartworm test (dogs)
* Feline Leukemia & FIV test (cats)
* Flea and tick preventative
* Heartworm preventative
* Microchip
* Pet Hub ID tag
You will need to bring the following to adopt:
•Picture ID with your current address. For example, a Driver's License or State ID.
•Proof of age (you must be 18 or older to adopt a pet from Animal Care)
•Proper form of payment (cash, credit/debit card, money order). Checks are accepted with a current Diver's License.
•A carrier for your adopted kitty or a leash and collar for your adopted dog. Don't have these items? Don't worry - we will have these and many more wonderful items for your new pet available for purchase in our Pet Retail Store.
