Rescue FAQs

Our mission...
... is to educate dog owners, identify needs of communities, supply owners with food and daily care items, provide access and financial help for routine veterinary care, and network with rescues and community organizations to help people get the food and financial assistance they need.

We are the “dog’s aides” people who contribute to the fulfillment of a need or furtherance of an effort or purpose. “To aid” is a verb, “aide” is a noun. Being a part of Dog Aide is not what we do, it is who we are.

Our Education Core Principles:
Physical and Behavioral Health
Proper Containment
Permanent Identification
K-12 Education Seminars
Networking Saves Lives

We recognize that all rescues and shelters have their strengths and areas of opportunity. We choose to operate with transparency, accountability, and integrity. We define ourselves by our met goals and achievements. We believe the outcome of our actions and the scope of our outreach determine our success as a network and partnership.
We serve the City Of Detroit Michigan.

Additional adoption info

We have multiple fees depending on age of dog. We will always require vet information, conduct a home visit and proper meet and greet for any other animals in the home. We require other animals in the home to be up to date on vaccinations and spayed or neutered.
