Rescue FAQs

Created in 2005, we are a non-profit volunteer-operated animal advocacy organization originally based in Mansfield, OH. Our director lives in the Cleveland-area. When able, we foster companions in our home. We believe all animals should be treated with compassion & respect. We advocate a vegan lifestyle. Our mission is to protect and promote value and respect for all animals. We act as a voice for the voiceless creatures through advocacy and community education. Our main purpose is to provide affordable spay/neuter services to our community with the assistance of Rascal Unit neutermobile. When able, we accept animals into our foster home-based rescue. Animals that enter our rescue are kept for as long as it takes to find forever homes - which can be a matter of a week to many months. We primarily pull from high-kill pounds/shelters. MAWL is an advocate of feral and stray cats and offers TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) services to Richland County as able. As a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization, your donations are tax-deductible. We operate solely on donations, so please consider supporting our efforts.
We have a very limited number of foster homes in Mansfield, Cleveland, & Columbus.

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application before we can consider a family for adoption. Our cat adoption fee is $75, which helps offset the vet care - sterilization, vaccines, deworming, FIV/Leukemia-testing & microchip. Our dog adoption fee is $175 and covers the sterilization, vaccines, deworming heartworm test (if age appropriate), and microchip.

A home visit and references will be performed. We are volunteers, so it could take 24 hours to return any email inquiry.
