Shelter FAQs

The Animal Orphanage of Voorhees is a loving place that welcomes 2,000 homeless pets each year. Our shelter is open intake, which means our doors are open to dogs and cats of any age, medical condition or breed. We are a no-kill facility and do not euthanize for space. We are a non-profit organization and depend on donations and volunteers to keep our shelter doors open.
The Voorhees Animal Orphanage welcomes stray cats and dogs from twelve different towns in the Southern New Jersey area. We also accept surrenders and transfers from other shelters when space is available.

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters must be at least 21 years of age.
An application must be completed and can take up to a week to process. Once an application is approved, family meets, dog meets (if applicable) and home checks must be completed.
