Rescue FAQs

The Cat's Meow started out as a little girl's dream to save the world, one kitten at a time, when she got her very own kitten at age 8. Bootsy was the love of her life and unknowingly set into motion the ideas and passion that would later create this comprehensive organization. We offer low-cost spay/neuter for all cats, feral and tame alike; we rent out traps, holding cages, carriers, & kennels to make it easy for people to get their cats to us, we work with other area organizations that provide food and high-volume intake for adoption. As resources allow, we bring in injured or sick cats for treatment and subsequent adoption. We are no-kill except in cases of terminal and severe illness/injury.
The Cat's Meow services (spay, neuter and adoption) are available to everyone, no matter where they reside.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
  2. Approve Application
  3. Meet the Pet
  4. Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $150-$200. Most all of our cats are available for indoor-only placement, with the exception of cats that we have trapped outdoors and tamed for adoption. These "rehabilitated" cats may be available for indoor/outdoor placement depending on the outdoor conditions of the adopter's home.
All of our kittens/cats are negative for FeLV/FIV (unless noted), spayed or neutered, vaccinated against distemper and treated for parasites.
We also offer an exchange guarantee after 4 weeks and before 5 weeks. We have a lifetime return policy on all of our kittens and cats.
