Northern Illinois Samoyed Assistance

Northern Illinois Samoyed Assistance Inc. became official in 1995, however it's purpose and goals began many years ago with the relocation of the first Samoyed in 1984.

The principle goal of N.I.S.A. is to save healthy, good natured Samoyeds from unnecessary euthanasia through shelters of un-caring humans. N.I.S.A. is a complete support group, whether you just acquired your first puppy, adopted from a local shelter, or acquired your Sammie through N.I.S.A. Counseling on behavior, grooming, general health, obedience classes, and more are available to any "Proud Samoyed owner".

Additional adoption info

Download our application here:

To be considered for adoption you must submit a completed application including a $25.00 (non-refundable) application fee, provide three required references and allow a NISA representative to visit your residence. The adoption committee will review all reports and determine if an applicant is approved or denied.
(NISA reserves the right to deny any application).

There is a separate adoption fee for the actual adoption of one of our Samoyeds. That helps to cover the cost of vaccinations, medical issues, spay/neuter, grooming, and other necessary expenses.

It is NISA's mission to find the best suitable home for each available Samoyed. This is achieved by knowing the personalities and quirks of each Samoyed and matching them to the most qualified applicant. Understandably this is not a speedy process, therefore we ask applicants to be patient. NISA is governed by an all-volunteer staff. Volunteers have family, employment, and personal commitments in addition to the time they donate to help the less-fortunate Samoyed.
