MISSION STATEMENT
FIRST AND FOREMOST WE ARE PUBLIC SERVANTS!
“PROTECTING PEOPLE FROM ANIMALS AND
ANIMALS FROM PEOPLE”

Our County is growing every day and with it, so is the need for Animal Control. To meet that need, every member of our staff — Director, Field Officers, and Staff Members — strives to deliver conscientious, quality care to the animals and responsive, professional service to our citizens. The Animal Control Division is dedicated to providing the best possible care and help for all the animals of St. Johns County.

Field Services: The Officers of Animal Control are in the field 7 days a week Monday 8:00am – 9:30pm , Tuesday & Wednesday 8:00am – 4:30pm, Thursday & Friday 8:00am – 9:30pm , Saturday & Sunday 9:00am – 5:30pm (904) 209-0746. They respond to various concerns from setting cat traps, looking for stray dogs / cats, to checking on the welfare of animals. We also have an Officer on call (Emergencies Only) 7 nights a week.
The Division of Animal Control has 5 full-time Animal Control Officers on staff at this time. Our Animal Control Officers are here to protect both the citizens and the pets of St. Johns County. They do this by enforcing the laws established by our County.

Pet Center: The Pet Center has an excellent staff that feeds, waters, cleans, and medicates the animals in our care. We have 2 veterinary technicians that process every animal that comes through our door. The animals are looked over thoroughly, scanned for microchips, and given needed medications. The Pet Center has a wide variety of dogs and cats that are looking for a loving home. We encourage you to bring your family and your “furry” family members to interact and ensure a good fit. All dog adoptions at the Pet Center are $45 for male & $60 for female - All Cat adoptions are $30 for male & $40 for female, which includes neutering/spaying, rabies vaccinations, shots, heartworm test for dogs, Leukemia/Aides test for cats, and a micro-chip. The Pet Center is located at 130 N Stratton Rd, just off US-1 between County Road 210 and International Golf Parkway. The hours are 9:00am – 4:30pm Tuesday thru Friday & 9:00am – 4:00pm on Saturday.
