Dogs In Crisis, Inc's adoption process

Submit Application

An application provides us with basic information about you and your lifestyle to see if its a good match.

Interview

Once we have your application, we can discuss any question we both may have,

Home Check

We do a home safety check and meet you.

Meet the Pet

An appointment is made to Introduce the dog to you and other pets if you have.

Sign Adoption Contract

Once all is approved, you will complete a contract which we go over with you. A donation fee will be required for adoption.

Additional adoption info

As Dogs In Crisis, Inc is a volunteer based organization. Although we try to respond immediately or within a few hours, we all have full time jobs. Please be patient as it may be a day or two before we can return your call or email. We do request a minimum adoption donation fee ranging from $150.00 - $200.00 per pet. An adoption application must be completed prior to adoption consideration. We require a home visitation prior to adoption. There is a follow-up visit between 1 and 2 weeks after the adoption. Pending, we may call the adopter to see how everything is going. To ensure a successful adoption, volunteers are available to guide adopters through any behavioral or other issues that may concern them about their new family member. Should the adopter ever need to give up a Dogs In Crisis rescue dogs, They will be required to contact us in ample time to find a new home or foster for the pet.

Founded in 2013, Dogs in Crisis, Inc, is a small organization made-up solely of dedicated volunteers who give their personal time to rescue and find good homes for homeless dogs. We operate and rely completely on charitable donations from the individuals and businesses. We help educate the community about the importance of neutering/spaying and provide information regarding low cost spay/neuter and vaccinations programs available in the South Florida area.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
