Rescue FAQs

The Big Fixx is a rescue and education group created in order to help eliminate the problem of pet overpopulation in the United States and rescue animals from the shelters that would have been euthanized. The rescue got started from a couple of animal lovers, April Walder and Natalie Cubbage brainstorming of how to help the shelter animals. We discovered the need to get to the source of the problem in order to see less animals being euthanized in the shelters. The goal of The Big Fixx is to "Fixx" the problem at the source and help the community understand the importance of spaying and neutering the animals. All of us are affected by the overpopulation of animals. Truth is, millions of tax dollars are spent annually to shelter and care for stray, abandoned and unwanted pets. And the worst part is, most of the money is spent to euthanize these animals when homes cannot be found. We are constantly thinking of new ideas for fundraising, drawing in volunteers and foster homes as well as brainstorming on how to make a more successful impact on the public. If you have any ideas or would like to help, let April Walder or Natalie Cubbage know. We appreciate all of the help and dedication from our rescue family. The organization is currently a private rescue with plans to become a non-profit this year.
The Big Fixx's mission is to help eliminate pet overpopulation in the United States and educate the community on the importance of spaying and neutering. We have foster homes all over the DFW area.

Additional adoption info

Our standard adoption fee is $200, but they're subject to change, due to cost of vetting and care for the animal. All animals adopted come vetted, heart worm tested, current on heart worm prevention, spayed/neutered and microchipped.
