The Commission on Chicago Animal Care & Control endeavors to demonstrate a dedication to the humane treatment of all animals in Chicago, to respond promptly to the requests for service from the public, and to enforce Chapter 7-12 of the Municipal Code of Chicago for the safety of Chicago's neighborhoods.

Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support the goals of the City of Chicago Animal Care and Control in their efforts to care for and find homes for thousands of rescued and unwanted animals.

These cats are available for adoption at Chicago Animal Care and Control -- 2741 S. Western Ave in Chicago. Adoptions must be done in person. The shelter is open to the public every day from noon to 7:00 p.m. Adoptions close at 6:00 p.m., so it's best to come in well before to allow time to meet and select your new pet. The cat adoption fee is $65, which includes: spay or neuter, Rabies inoculation*, booster for Feline Distemper, Pneumoitis, Rhinotracheitis, Calici (FVRCP), Feline Leukemia test, microchip. *Kittens who are too young will not receive rabies protection.
