Areas Mutts & Mayhem Serves

Mutts and Mayhem Emergency Search and Rescue (MMESAR) is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2014 by two active duty Paramedics. MMESAR serves communities throughout North Texas. We receive no federal or state funding and rely solely on donations from generous individuals, businesses, foundations and grants to support our programs and services.

Mutts & Mayhem's Adoption Process

UPDATED March 2015

Feline Adoption Fees
$100 <1 year
$80 <5 years
$50 >5 years

Canine Adoption Fees
$300 <1 year
$250 <3 years
$200 <5 years
$100 >5 years

Prior to an adoption, all of our animals will have received a thorough Veterinary exam, received treatment needed for any illnesses or injuries they may have incurred prior to their Rescue, they have been spayed or neutered, and they have been vaccinated and have been given Microchip IDs!

Our Adoption Fees range depending on the animal. Careful consideration is taken when determining this fee. We consider the animals’ previous medical expenses, length of time in our care, adopt-ability factors, future needs, etc. Each animals adoption’ fee will be listed within his/her profile information.

We wish that we could simply give our animals to their new adoptive family at zero cost. However, Mutts & Mayhem is a non profit organization who relies solely on individual donations and adoption fees to care for all of our animals on a day to day basis. The cost associated with treating and caring for each animal far outweighs the adoption fee that you pay for that animal through your adoption. Please keep all of this in mind if it seems to you that the adoption fee listed may be too high for that animal.

To be considered for adoption you need to:

•Be at least 18 years old.
•Have knowledge and consent of all adults living in your household
•Have a valid government-issued photo ID
•Have landlords consent to bring an animal onto the property (if applicable)
•Possess zero criminal convictions for Animal Cruelty, Animal Abuse, Family/Domestic Violence or Felony Violent Crimes.
•Understand that Mutts & Mayhem reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any animal to any person.

Through the adoption process, we will ask you to complete an adoption application and we will process it as promptly as possible. For dog adoptions, we do require a home visit prior to the final approval of an adoption application. After your adoption application has been approved, we will complete an adoption agreement with you that is signed by all parties.

After your adoption, if "anything" happens where you can no longer keep or care for the pet that you adopted from us, we will happily accept that animal back into our Rescue, no questions asked.

About Mutts & Mayhem

Our Mission is to provide a coordinated effort in the response, search, rescue and recovery phases for natural disasters, significant public emergencies and major vehicle collisions involving animals in North Texas. We increase animal discovery and survival by developing and activating community-based local search teams, providing immediate lifesaving treatment and transport of injured animals and providing training and continuing education for response team volunteers.

Come Meet Mutts & Mayhem's Pets

We are happy to schedule a "Meet & Greet" and/or an Adoption for one or more of our animals by appointment. We hold public adoption events periodically where you may meet our animals on the spot. These event dates and times are posted on the home page of our website. www.muttsandmayhem.org
