Rescue FAQs

The staff at Sheets Pet Clinic is a skilled, dedicated team that invests an extraordinary degree of time, compassion, and expertise to the adoptable cat program. The staff is committed to animal rescue efforts and to making spay/neuter affordable for all.
Sheets Pet Clinic Cat Rescue is a program of Sheets Pet Clinic, owned by Kimberly Sheets, DVM. Sheets Pet Clinic in Greensboro, NC, has a low-cost spay/neuter program incorporated with a full-service vet clinic. The clinic houses and provides full veterinary care to abandoned, neglected and/or surrendered animals in the Triad area and surrounding communities. All adoptable cats are sterilized prior to adoption in order to promote an end to pet overpopulation. We expect adopters to provide regular veterinary care by a licensed veterinarian including but not limited to annual wellness exams, regular vaccinations, and proper, humane treatment in the event of illness or injury.

Additional adoption info

Our $75 adoption fee includes: FeLV and/or FIV test, spay or neuter, microchip insertion and registration, age-appropriate up-to-date vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and any other medical care needed. Basic responsible pet ownership is annual wellness exams, booster exams, current rabies and distemper vaccines for cats & dogs. Dogs must be on heartworm prevention. Pet cats, inside or outside, must have tested negative FeLV/FIV, and proof of a negative test result is required. Cats and dogs in the household must be spayed or neutered.

An application with a vet-check and rental check, if applicable, is required before adoption. **To request an application, write petadoptions@sheetspetclinic.com.**

The adoption fee is refundable if during the two weeks after adoption you find that the cat isn't a match for your household. We'll assist in finding a better match. Even after the two-week period, we ask that our cats come back to us if the adopter is no longer able to care for the pet.
