The Joshua Fund Dog Rescue's Adoption Process

1. Submit Application

After we receive your application and your required documents, our Adoption Counselor will contact you as soon as possible.

2. Interview

When our Adoption Counselor contacts you, she will review your application with you and answer any questions you may have.

3. Approve Application

Once you are approved, you will be told about what happens next and the approximate arrival date of your dog.

You are required to fill out an adoption application. We will let you know when we receive it and let you know what photos we require to complete your application.

At the time of adoption, you must travel to Lake Placid, NY with your family and any other dogs you have for the "meet & greet." You will be required to sign a contract. Our adoption fee is $400 payable at the time of adoption.

If the pup hasn’t been spayed or neutered because of age, we require an additional $150 deposit which is refundable when you get the surgery done.

Canadian Adopters will have all the paperwork needed to cross the Border the same day (there is no extra charge for the paperwork.) Your fee/fees must be USD.

About The Joshua Fund Dog Rescue

The Joshua Fund rescues dogs from high kill shelters across the US. All of our dogs are tested and treated for any medical conditions they may have. They're up to date on shots, are spayed/neutered and are heartworm negative when they get their Health Certificate for interstate travel. We take special care to ensure that our dogs are healthy before they leave for their journey North. We rescue dogs who are unwanted and have no hope for a future without us. We're a small Rescue, taking only as many dogs at a time as we can place into excellent homes. We know that our dogs have a sad past - we strive to give them a wonderful future.
The Joshua Fund is a Registered Rescue with NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets. Registration No. RR096

Come Meet The Joshua Fund Dog Rescue's Pets

We do not have a physical building like a shelter does. We are a Foster-based Rescue and our dogs and puppies remain with their Foster Family in their city/state of origin until they have a pre-approved, confirmed adopter. We mainly rescue from Houston, Texas and Western Tennessee.
