Rescue FAQs

Beacon Animal Rescue is an all volunteer organization dependent on donations. There are no administrative costs in the organization. We feel that since all of our volunteers have a desire to be helping animals, they are special people who show special care for each and every one of our animals. Every animal that enters Beacon becomes part of the Beacon family and earns a special place in the hearts of our volunteers.
Beacon Animal Rescue is a small no-kill shelter located in Upper Township, Cape May County. We have adopted our pets to mostly southern New Jersey residents and some to out of state.

Additional adoption info

An application must be completed for adoption of one of our pets. The application asks adopters to provide a vet reference and personal references. A home check may be done if deemed necessary, usually for first time pet owners. Our adoption fee of $175.00 for dogs over 1 year old, $250.00 for puppies, and $75.00 for kittens and cats.

All of our pets are adopted up to date with their vaccinations, micro-chipped and registration of the micro-chip for the life of the pet. We also offer assistance with basic training issues for the life of the dog as part of the adoption fee. All pets are neutered/spayed or if they are too young they are fostered with the adoptive family until this has been completed.
