Safe Haven Bichon and Friends Rescue

Safe Haven Bichon and Friends Rescue is a foster-based rescue. All dogs live in the comfort of foster homes located in the Midwestern states of Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota, while waiting for their forever homes. We focus mainly on bichons, but also rescue other small non-shedding breeds such as shih tzu, poodle, maltese, yorkie, lhasa apso, havanese, etc. Our dogs come from a variety of situations--commercial breeder facilities, animal control shelters, and owner surrenders. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (4DX test, which also test for tick diseases), dewormed, vaccinated, and have dental cleanings, if needed, before going to their forever homes. We also take care of all other vet issues such as ear infections, eye infections, mammary tumor removal, etc. In other words, when you adopt a dog from us, you are getting a completely vetted dog. We want them to be as happy and healthy as possible before they leave Safe Haven. All vet paperwork is given to adopters at the time of adoption.
