Rescue FAQs

Operation Topcat, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, organization's, mission is to reduce the stray/feral cat population in our area in a humane and caring way by finding homes for tame strays and helping care takers of managed colonies spay/neuter the cats. Our organization supports “trap/neuter/return” strategy. Under this method, if the group can help, homeless cats which cannot be placed in an adoptive home are spayed or neutered, have their left ear “tipped” (to provide easy identification as having been spayed or neutered), and are then returned to their colony for continued care by their caretaker. Topcat encourages responsible pet ownership, especially spaying and neutering of pets, and more humane treatment of all stray and feral cats.
We are located in North Carolina and serve Topsail Island, Hampstead, Holly Ridge and Sneads Ferry. Pender County Onslow County

Additional adoption info

We have a written application to be completed that is reviewed by a board member for approval. Our adoptable kitties are tested, vaccinated, altered, and chipped prior to adoption.
