Loxahatchee Animal Rescue Community (LARC) is based in Loxahatchee, Florida and works primarily within Palm Beach County. The Pawsitive Direction Program is located in Okeechobee County.
Loxahatchee Animal Rescue Community (LARC) is a 501(c)(3) foster and donation based rescue organization. Our rescue is a bit different, however, in that we not only want to SAVE lives, but EDUCATE the community too.
LARC depends on fosters to reach our life saving goals and further our rescue efforts. If you'd like to join our team by becoming a foster, please reach out to us via the phone number and/or email address provided.
If you're unable to adopt or foster please consider donating to LARC through Paypal:
Educate, Act, and SAVE A LIFE!
The Pawsitive Direction program, developed by Denise Rock and Loxahatchee Animal Rescue Community, Inc. (LARC), is a 12 week training program designed to assist not only shelter dogs, but the men in custody in the Okeechobee Correctional Institution work camp. It is the intention of this program to have the handlers train the dogs brought into the program basic obedience, socialization, and more. The end goal is for the dogs to graduate fully obedience trained, AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) ready, and Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Canine Life and Social Skills (CLASS) ready therefore giving them a better opportunity for adoption. This program not only gives the dogs a second chance, but will provide the handlers training and various other skills in hopes they are able to find gainful employment when released.
The men will be able to provide detailed information about the dogs in their care to the program Directors on a weekly basis and potential adopters at the graduation ceremony. The canine participants will be UTD on shots, spayed/neutered, and microchipped.
If you're interested in meeting one of our AWESOME adoptables please contact Loxahatchee Animal Rescue Community (LARC) via the phone number and/or email address provided. We will be more than happy to set up a meet and greet!
Future adoption event locations TBD.
