Rescue FAQs
We rescue cats and kittens to prevent them from entering an overcrowded shelter system and so they may thrive in a safe environment. We also partner with other rescues to assist them in adoptions and finding their adult cats furever homes.
We offer community resource recommendations to people who don't know where to turn, as well as help with behavioral issues with their kitties.
FHKR provides lifetime care for special needs cats and our "senior kittizens." We also provide "pawspice" care for those special kitties who are nearing the end of their nine lives.
It's our joy to provide these furbabies with the love and care they deserve.

Adoption steps
- Submit Application
- you may fill out the application online on our website and we will contact your references and vet to establish your pet care history.
- Interview
- We will set up a phone interview where we will chat about your family, household and your perfect kitties possible characteristics.
- Meet the Pet
- We do a face to face Meet & Greet to see if its a good match for the cat. If the cat interacts well with its potential family is priority.
Additional adoption info
There is an adoption application and contract to adopt one of our kitties. We will check vet references and home checks will be done by ourselves or a local rescue partner. Our kitties are all indoor only and no declawing. We do occasionally take in a declawed cat whom we network to find the appropriate home. Our adoption fees are 125.00.
All cats are spay/neutered, Rabies, Vaccines up to date, Fiv/Felv tested negative, Microchipped.
