Rescue FAQs

ASVT is made up entirely of volunteers who love animals and advocate for healthy animals and adoption. We transport dogs to shelters and rescues with high rates of adoption shelters for adoption. We facilitate local adoptions by taking pets to local businesses and events for adoption fairs. We provide medical care for ill/injured animals. ASVT gladly accepts donations for our transport program, animal supplies (beds, cages, fencing, etc.) and for medical care. Thank you!
The Animal Shelter Volunteers of Texas (ASVT) rescues and fosters animals from Montgomery County, Texas, and the surrounding area. We do not have a facility; all of our animals are kept in foster homes.

Additional adoption info

We are all volunteers and have busy lives. Please allow 2-3 business days for a reply to your inquiry. FAILURE TO FILL OUT THE APPLICATION COMPLETELY AND ACCURATELY WILL DELAY PROCESSING.

The adoption is NOT FINAL until the animal is spayed/neutered. A refundable deposit of $100.00 for dogs ($50 for cats) will be collected at time of adoption and returned when the pet has been spayed or neutered.

The adoption fee covers the spay/neuter surgery, core vaccinations, including rabies, and a microchip.
