Rescue FAQs

We are a 501c3 all volunteer non profit animal rescue. We not only save animals from our local kill shelter, but from such free sites as one man's junk, and craigs list. We receive literally hundreds of calls each month asking for help also. We believe all lives matter and try to help each and every animal in need, sick, injured, elderly, abandoned, whatever the need.
We rely solely on contributions for generous people and fundraisers..
We are located in Cleveland County North Carolina. We take animals from our local county shelter who still euthanizes for space, and also from the public before the animals get dumped at the county shelter. We also pull from surrounding areas. We will adopt out and take in animals as far as we are able to travel to do our home checks, etc. ( we will drive up to a two hours one way from Cleveland County)

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. 1st step is to submit our on line app. IMPORTANT! Be sure to call your vet and let them know we will be calling for vet references.
  2. Interview
    1. After reviewing application, we do a short interview on the phone to insure family is ready to adopt.
  3. Home Check
    1. The home check is next. This gives us a chance to make sure the dog and family are a good fit, and the adopters a chance to ask questions.
  4. Meet the Pet
    1. Meet & Greet must be scheduled within three days after home visit for us to hold the dog for you.
  5. Meet the Pet
    1. If you do not adopt day of meet & greet, a $100 non refundable deposit is required to hold the dog. (Will be deducted from adoption)
  6. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. Sign adoption contract with witness, agreeing to our terms
  7. Pay Fee
    1. Pay the adoption fee and take your new family member home

Additional adoption info

All dogs are current on vaccines, heart worm negative and on preventive, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. We do require an adoption application, references, veterinarian references, and a home check. Upon completing review of application and homecheck, a meet and greet will be scheduled to determine if the dog you have applied for is a good fit with you. At the time of adoption, a contract is required for you to sign. Adoption fee is $250 unless otherwise stated.
