Areas McCracken County Humane Society Serves

We are in Paducah, KY located in McCracken County. We take in owner surrenders and strays from the public as well as strays brought in via Animal Control. All intakes must be from McCracken County.

McCracken County Humane Society's Adoption Process

For our cats, their adoption is $100. This includes their spay/neuter, microchip, feline leukemia test, feline boosters, deworming, rabies vaccine, flea/tick treatment, and grooming/bathing.

For our dog, their adoption range from $150-$300. Some of our dogs who have been here a long time are discounted to $100 and down. This covers their spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test and monthly prevention, parvo boosters, deworming, rabies vaccine, flea/tick treatment, and grooming/bathing.

On the recommendation of our vets we do all of these things along with treating of heartworm positive animals, mange, and any other conditions that arise. This is all done at our veterinarian's clinic.

About McCracken County Humane Society

Mission Statement

Since the foundation of the McCracken County Humane Society in 1951, our mission has been to facilitate and advocate for the humane treatment and welfare of all animals. We vow to educate against animal cruelty and the prevention of overpopulation and confront inhumane practices.
Our purpose at this humane society is to establish and maintain a facility that promotes and provides a healthy, safe living environment for unwanted but adoptable, owner surrender animals. With the generous help of shelter employees and volunteers that selflessly give their time, we commit that these animals are treated as our own and are given the love and attention that they deserve until we are able to place them with a person/persons that can give them a suitable permanent loving home.
The animals that are in our care are walked, exercised, groomed, socialized and provided health care. We do not euthanize simply for lack of space or have any time limited policy for determining animal euthanization.
We believe in celebrating pets and in providing health, well-being and meaningful social change for any animal that needs a home. We strive to be a well-organized, efficient humane society “home” for all of those in need.
