Shelter FAQs

Established in 1989, the Humane Society of Dickson County is dedicated to educating the public in responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We strive to give a voice and shelter to unwanted, abandoned and abused animals in the Dickson community. We provide a provide a clean, safe and healthy environment to the animals we serve, and we treat them with kindness and compassion.
We accept animals from all of Dickson County, including the following cities: Dickson, Burns, Charlotte, Cumberland Furnace, Slayden and White Bluff. We are a limited intake facility and maintain a waiting list.

Additional adoption info

The standard adoption fee is $175.00. This fee covers all of the vaccinations and/or spay and neuter. If the puppy or cat is too young to be spayed or neutered we require a $75.00 deposit that will be returned once the animal has been spayed or neuter.
