Rescue FAQs
Mile High Dachshunds Rescue is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-run, foster-based nonprofit Colorado corporation committed to protecting and improving the lives of abandoned, abused, rescued, and surrendered Dachshunds. All expenses related to rescuing Dachshunds, getting them the veterinary care they need, providing for their care while in one of our foster homes, and all the other financial requirements of maintaining a successful animal rescue are provided by fundraisers, grants, and donations.
Based in Greater Denver Metro Area and serving the entire state of Colorado. We do not adopt out-of-state.
Adoption steps
- Submit Application
- Request an application from info@MileHighDachshundsRescue.org
- Home Check
- After personal and vet references are checked, a personal visit will be scheduled to assure the home will be a safe place for the dog.
- Take the Pet Home
- Sign the adoption contract, pay the adoption fee, and you're ready to take your new companion animal home.

Adoption fee: Puppy (12 months or younger) $350: Adults $275
