OUR VISION
A safe, loving home for every dog.

OUR MISSION
To ensure that abandoned, homeless, abused, and unwanted Scottish Terriers in the Pacific Northwest are fostered in caring homes; physically and emotionally healthy; and placed in safe, loving, and "forever homes."

ASTR is an all volunteer rescue. 100% of donations go to caring for the dogs.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. Our rescue volunteers work as quickly as we can but cannot contact every applicant. Best Qualified applicants will be contacted.
  2. Approve Application
    1. Steps 2 through 7 often are completed over 2-3 days so please only apply if you are ready to adopt a dog and take it home in that time.
  3. Interview
    1. Done via phone
  4. Home Check
    1. This is often done within 24-72hrs of the interview.
  5. Meet the Pet
    1. Step 5, 6, and 7 happen on the same day and the newly adopted dog goes home with you if meeting the pet went well.
  6. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. Step 5, 6, and 7 happen on the same day and the newly adopted dog goes home with you if meeting the pet went well.
  7. Pay Fee
    1. Step 5, 6, and 7 happen on the same day and the newly adopted dog goes home with you if meeting the pet went well.

All of our dogs are in foster homes, so please fill out an application on our website to meet them in person: www.aberdeenstr.com. Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a 501(c)3 recognized charity. Our volunteers dedicate all their free hours to finding the best loving home for each of our dogs.
