Shelter FAQs

Fresno Humane Animal Services was founded by a group of like-minded individuals with decades of experience in animal welfare. Our organization includes top-notch veterinarians, local animal rescue representatives, and seasoned animal control professionals--all working together with a common purpose. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for Fresno County's animals by providing a full range of progressive animal control services. We believe in a forward-thinking approach to animal control with a focus on education, animal reunification, adoption, and community safety. We work hard every day to protect the public, educate and assist our community's pet owners, and save as many lives as possible. Together we will build a shelter that is a true safety net for Fresno County's homeless pets.
We provide compassionate Animal Control Services for the County of Fresno. Our goal is to provide safe haven to lost pets until save placement can be found.

Adoption steps

  1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
  2. Meet the Pet
    1. Feel free to bring your pet (dogs only) to meet your possible new pet.
  3. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. It's straightforward; you just need to agree to take great care of our wonderful pets.
  4. Pay Fee
    1. Our fee is $125, but we do offer adoption specials often.
  5. Take the Pet Home
    1. Sometimes there may be a short delay taking your new pet home if they still need to be spayed or neutered.
