Rescue FAQs

We rescue dogs from high kill shelters on their last adoptable day, often minutes before being killed. Most of the dogs in our program have been rescued from high kill rural shelters in North Carolina. We do not rescue a specific breed of dog, and believe all dogs deserve a wonderful loving home. Once a dog comes into the rescue , they are taken to the vet for vaccinations, they are neutered or spayed and receive a heartworm test. If positive, our rescue raises money for the costly heartworm treatments and takes care of that before they are adopted. Most of our dogs live in foster home until they are adopted and mainly located in North Carolina. We have had many successful adoptions in NC, SC and VA and have transported as far as Colorado and Minnesota so distance is not an issue!
We will transport to any state with an approved adoption. Our dogs are usually placed in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland.

Additional adoption info

Adoption application, phone or face-to-face interview, reference checks and home visit required. Contract at the time of adoption. Adoption fee is $150 for adults, $350 for puppies and $350 for small breed puppies or pure breeds. All dogs come spayed/neutered (or under contract to do so if too young), UTD on shots, HW tested and microchipped.
