Areas Cherished Life serves

Dr. Mary Marcotte began Cherished Life in February of 2005. We take in as many animals as possible - they are usually those in need of medical care. These animals are typically on the urgent lists at local shelter facilities. Dr. Marcotte provides all veterinary care necessary and then finds them forever homes once they are recovered. We do not ship animals out of state.

Additional adoption info

A short application is required before an appointment can be arranged to meet our adoptable animals. Once your application is approved, our adoption coordinator will contact you and arrange a visit. Some animals maybe adopted the same day (those that are already spayed/neutered and healthy). Adoption fees are set per animal and depend on the level of medical care invested. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold an animal. A signed contract is required at the time of adoption.

About Cherished Life

Cherished Life is a non profit organization dedicated to providing foster care and veterinary care to animals in need. Everyday our local shelters are inundated with animals surrendered by their owners, picked up by animal control, or found by local citizens. Quite frequently these pets are ill and in desperate need of medical attention. Our goal is to provide affordable veterinary care so that more homeless pets can have a second chance at life.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
