Rescue FAQs

New Beginnings has been in the animal sheltering business for ten years. It started as a small trailer and grew from there adding a special needs shelter, and now we are a building a kitten nursery. We are known to go to the extreme to save cats lives. We have 5 full-time employees and about 15 volunteers. We our known to take in the "unadoptable cats" many shelters won't take because we fully believe every cat deserves a second chance at a new life
New Beginnings is a no-kill, cageless cat shelter, and sanctuary. We serve Kankakee and the surrounding counties.

Additional adoption info

We have a people friendly policy. We like to get to know you as a person or family, so we can work together to adopt the perfect cat for you.
Our adoption fees are $125.00 for kittens under 9 months old.
Cats 9 months and older are $100.00
This includes spay/nueter, all shots are up to date, including rabies. Our cats have also been microchipped and Fiv/FeLV tested negative. We also provide 30 days free insurance after you take your kitty for it's vet check.
