Jacksonville Animal Control promotes and protects the welfare of our citizens and animals.The Animal Control division is part of the Police department. We have 10 kennels for dogs and 12 kennels for cats. We work with out of state rescues and animal rescue groups all over the country.
We serve the city of Jacksonville Texas for all Animal Control and shelter needs. Due to our size, we can only except stray animals from within the city limits of Jacksonville Texas.
Additional adoption info
All our animals are microchipped prior to leaving the shelter. There is an adoption application that must be filled out prior to adopting. If the pet is not spayed or neutered you will have to sign a sterilization contract with us and the adoption is not legal until you bring us back a copy of where your pet was spayed/neutered and a copy of the rabies certification. Adoptions aren't legal until animal has been given a rabies shot and been spayed/neutered.
