Bishop Animal Shelter SPCA is a privately run, non-profit located in Bradenton, Florida. We adopt dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, ferrets and many more.

Bishop Animal Shelter SPCA's Adoption Process

1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

***Covid-19 Update: The shelter is currently by appointment only. Please call the shelter at 941-792-2863 to schedule an appointment.

2. Meet the Pet

Dogs at home? Bring them in for a meet and greet!

3. Sign Adoption Contract

4. Pay Fee

5. Take the Pet Home

We offer a slumber party program! Potential adopters can take home a pet for a sleepover to see if they are a perfect match before adopting.

Our experienced staff will gladly help you find an animal that’s likely to be a good fit for your lifestyle and living arrangements. Once you’ve decided that you’re ready to make the commitment, browse our adoptable dogs, cats, birds and small animals in need of loving, forever homes. We encourage adopters to bring in their own dogs in for meet and greets when bringing a new pup into the family.

Exotic Animals (Chinchillas, Sugar Gliders, Hedgehogs): $50

It is a no-kill adoption facility that is dedicated to finding homes for cats, dogs, small animals, and birds. Our mission is to promote the compassionate treatment of companion animals in Manatee County and surrounding areas through progressive leadership, collaboration, and education.
