Rescue FAQs

Hope For Donghae Paws(HDP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to bringing rescue dogs from Korea to the US and finding permanent homes for them. It is true there are many animal lovers in Korea, but still many dogs suffer and are killed for food.

We are an all volunteer run rescue with no paid members and NO FACILITY. We rely solely on foster homes provided by our generous Volunteers who keep the dongs in their homes until adopted.

Our mission is to find US homes for mixed, handicapped, senior, and large-breed dogs whose chances of being adopted in their native Korea are very low.
- Areas We Serve: Fairfax (VA/MD), Orlando(FL), and Chicagoland(IL).

Additional adoption info

01. Adoption Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Have a valid ID with current address
- All adults in your household must consent on
adoption.
- If you rent, you must verify that you’re allowed to
have a dog where you live (the landlord’s name
and phone number)

02. Adoption Application: Please complete the adoption application form thoroughly.

03. Home Check: Our volunteers will visit your home to provide necessary information, as well as to inspect whether your home is a good environment for the adoptive dog.

04. Adoption Fees: $300
(The adoption fee will be regarded as a partial reimbursement paid by the adopter to HDP for the overall expenses being spent for the dog, including, but not limited to medical examination, vaccinations, custom, and transportation charges. In reality, such adoption fees will be spent to bring the next dog from Korea.)
