A P.O. Box 653, Monterey, VA 24465 rescue helping to find loving homes for dogs.
1 - 4 of 4 Adoptable Pets at This Shelter
Highland and Bath Counties, VA
Pocahontas and Pendleton Counties, WV
Thanks to animal transports, we adopt anywhere but usually it would be the northeast, such as New York State, Connecticut, etc.
Little Big Dog Rescue has two missions. One is to rescue chained/penned and yard sale dogs. The other is to rescue senior dogs who are left homeless due to the death of an owner, or the owner moving to a nursing home. We are a home-based rescue. We have no physical shelter. Our foster homes are often the first time a chained/penned dog sees the inside of a house. While in foster care the dogs are socialized, house-trained, crate- and leash-trained, and get to experience the joy of being wanted and loved. After rescuing animals for several years, we started our non-profit in 2016. We are a small organization and are always looking for volunteers (foster, transport, fundraise, socialize dogs). We are also dependent on donations to cover our expenses. Donations are tax-deductible and 100% of donations go to the medical expenses incurred by vetting the dogs (spay, neuter, surgery for eye conditions, removal and biopsy of masses, etc).
We are located in a remote rural county in Virginia. We take advantage of every opportunity to show our adoptable dogs, such as festivals and fairs. You can arrange a meet and greet by sending an e-mail request to email@example.com. We are willing to transport our adoptable dogs anywhere within a 50 mile radius of Monterey, VA in order to meet a prospective adopter.
