Our dream is to get the state of Florida to become a no-kill state.
We appreciate any amount of donation we receive. Without your support, we could not save or vet our dogs. We are a Non-Profit 501c3 charity, and all donations are tax deductible.
We are ALWAYS looking for fosters! As a foster, you are the stepping stone to a forever home. You are the first person a dog trusts after leaving the traumatizing environment of the shelter.
We are also in need of volunteers to help walk the dogs that are not in foster homes, to transport dogs to events, and to help at our events.

Statewide, foster-based rescue in Florida
Additional adoption info
To apply, email islanddogrescue.jen@gmail.com and request an application. Adoption applications are approved by the board and a background check is completed on applicant(s). We then have a foster call applicant(s) for a phone interview and set up a home check. If applicant(s) pass home check, a week sleepover is scheduled to see if the dog of interest fits in with their family/life style. After a week, if they decide to move forward with the adoption, the adoption agreement is signed and the adoption donation fee is collected.
