Rescue FAQs
Paws and Pooches is a small family ran 501c3 Non-Profit Animal Rescue. Between all of us we have 50+ yrs in rescuing, rehabbing and working with all breeds of dogs and also 25+ yrs of grooming animals and making them go from frumpy looking and not feeling so hot to beautiful and struttin their stuff.
We love all animals and enjoy taking a dog who doesnt trust humans because of their past and gaining their trust and seeing them blossom and flourish then finding their new forever home. That is PRICELESS!!

Paws and Pooches is located in Concord, CA. However we will go to any city and state that will allow us to do our rescue work.
We also accept and bring into our program, dogs that are strays, come from various shelters, owner surrenders or neglect and abuse cases. These babies can literally come from anywhere in California or anywhere in the country and we will take them in.

Adoption steps
- InterviewAfter you have inquired about a pet we will have a little chat so I can get to know you and find out what your needs and wants are in a pet.
- Meet the PetYou come and meet the pet to make sure its a perfect match for both you and dog. If you have other animals they will need to meet too.
- Submit Application
- Approve Application
- Sign Adoption Contract
- Pay FeeFees vary from dog to dog depending on what we have put into the dog. Fees are listed on dogs profile. We take Cash, Pay Pal, Credit Card.
- Take the Pet HomeYou get to take pet home same day providing everything else checks out and you have everything you need for a new dog.

If you see a doggie thatbyou are truly interested in please read their entire profile If they have one. Some of them may not have much of a profile yet and in that instance pleaae email or text us if you would like to ask questions or schedule a meet and greet. Its first come first serve. We cannot hold onto doggies anymore for anyone at this time.
