Austin Lost and Found Pets (ALFP) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization formed in January 2016 at the specific request of Austin Animal Center (AAC), which is the largest no-kill shelter in the country. ALFP plays a key role by drastically reducing shelter intake by thousands of pets at AAC annually.

We rely solely on private donations to provide our extensive pet locating services to the community. We help literally thousands of missing pets, their families and the members of the community that need assistance getting the animals they've found home each year.

We arrange fosters for found animals, particularly those that are frightened, skittish, injured or feral, as well as in cases where finders cannot hold a pet when the shelter is closed. We also raise funds to provide medical care for animals that are injured or sick when they are found, particularly in cases where the family would have to either make the heartbreaking decision to euthanize them or surrender them to a shelter, rescue or individual due to their inability to pay for veterinary care.

The ALFP Street Team, assists in physical searches, captures difficult-to-catch strays, provides mobile microchip scanning, transport assistance for found animals, makes and distributes flyers & posters and/or provides supplies to do so, picks up and scans deceased animals so they're not taken straight to the dump to give families an opportunity for closure.

If you would like to and are able, please consider supporting our lifesaving mission by making a tax deductible contribution of any amount. Thanks!!! 😊🐾❤
