Do Standard Poodles sleep with their eyes open?

Standard Poodles can sleep with their eyes open, though they are more likely to be partially, rather than fully, open. Like people, sleeping with eyes a bit open typically occurs during their REM (rapid eye movement) phase of sleep. While they are asleep, you may notice your Standard Poodle’s eyes rapidly moving side to side, fluttering, or rolling upwards — all normal for dogs.
