When
choosing a crate for an adult Border Collie, it should be about 36 to 42 inches long, and at least 25 to 30 inches high. While it’s helpful to use positive-reinforcement methods to teach your Border Collie to stay in a crate in case of emergencies, for travelling, and for vet-prescribed crate rest, these working dogs should not be kept in crates regularly. If your pup prefers a small, den-like space to curl up in, you can always leave the crate door open to give them a choice.
