The weather is warming, flowers are blooming, we’re coming out of our winter hibernation and starting to enjoy the great outdoors because Spring is HERE! For pets it’s also the time of year they start dealing with pesky fleas and ticks. We’re not letting that deter us from celebrating the season because we’re helping keep those pests at bay. We are excited to announce we’re collaborating with Seresto® once again for the Circle of Love grant program. For the third year in a row, we are awarding a total of $100,000 in Seresto® product grants to help shelters and rescues more easily care for dogs and cats waiting to be adopted –and the granting starts now! Thanks to the generous donation by Seresto®, 20 organizations will receive Seresto® collars for the pets in their care! That gives pets a lot more time to enjoy the weather and find their forever home without stress.

These product grants truly make a huge difference in the lives of rescue pets. See what some of our past recipients have to say about what the grants meant to their organization:

“We are continually grateful for having the lengthy benefits of Seresto® as a part of our complete, compassionate, care for all of the cats and dogs that come through our doors.” – The Cat House on the Kings

” As with all rescues there are always more lives to save than money available, so these [Seresto®] grants are vital to help administer the rescue. These amazing products, besides helping financially, also take a small burden off the foster families by allowing flea and tick protection without monthly administration of medications.” – Dolly’s Legacy Animal Rescue

Check out what the other 2020 recipients have to say about their grants, and be on the lookout for more stories from our grant winners.

APA Adoption Center

Who they are:The Animal Protective Association of Missouri is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing people and pets together, advancing humane education and creating programs beneficial to the human/animal bond. They strive to go above and beyond pet adoption and really help their community as a whole. APA’s Pet Partners Program helps pets who live in under-resourced communities get the veterinary care they need via mobile delivery of vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, flea/tick preventative, and emergency veterinary care.

“In times of crisis, the APA provides essential resources, such as pet food and supplies. These intake diversion activities ultimately help keep pets and their people together. As the Covid-19 crisis grips St. Louis, the APA’s community outreach work is crucial,” Mandy Pratt, APA’s development manager said. “Pet Partners has been temporarily modified to respond to the community’s needs while still maintaining community health and safety through social distancing. Our Outreach Coordinator has been working to increase access to resources, such as food, litter and emergency vet care. While our low-cost vet clinic is currently closed, outreach clients are able to get the veterinary help they need working through our Pet Partners initiative. With a grant from Adopt-A-Pet.com we will be able to provide high-quality, long-lasting flea & tick preventative collars to dogs and cats who need it most.”
