My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET PAL!

Pal is a 7 year old Blue and Gold Macaw parrot. We believe he is a male but have not had him DNA tested. He is very loving, but very selective. He has had a rough life, living with families that were not very good to him and constantly called him names and told him to “Shut up, Pal”…. So that is most of his vocabulary. His current owner has done what she could in the time that she’s had him and has worked toward making him more of a family bird, but he is very weary of new people. He sleeps 12 hours a day, and if he has gotten the attention and love he wanted before bed time he goes to sleep without a peep. He loves to chew on things! Wooden blocks are his favorite, but newspaper strips and cotton braided rope will keep him busy for hours. He is a great companion for anyone who has the time for him. He would come with a 6’ x 5’ x 4.5’ steel cage, two food bowls, and all his toys. Any potential candidates will be interviewed by current owner as a change in environment like this can be very stressful and cause him to self mutilate by pulling his feathers out or squawking a lot. He is also experienced in getting his wings/claws clipped and does well with that.
