My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max is a 2 year old puggle (pug/beagle mix) who was brought to the SPCA because his previous family couldn't care for him any longer. Max is a great little dog! He is a super duper high energy guy who loves life! He loves to run and play outside and will surely benefit from a fenced in yard. Max gets along nicely with other dogs (and cats too!) and would love another playful dog in his new home. He is very affectionate, very generous with kisses and craves lots of attention. Max is house trained but we haven't found a way to entice him into a crate as of yet. He is respectful of baby gates and does quite well when confined to his personal space. Max loves his toys! Squeaky toys, balls or stuffies, he loves them all and takes great pleasure in ripping them apart too (although he is not destructive with household items that aren't his). Max does have some behavior challenges so he is living with one of our foster families. He is easily overstimulated and sometimes has handling issues with strangers. Max can be protective and has the tendency to guard his valuables (sometimes that includes people) from those he doesn't trust. For this reason he cannot go to a home with children. Max's new family must have experience training dogs with strong personalities. His foster mom reports that he is very smart, very eager to please and doing very well learning with the positive training he is receiving. His new person must be committed to continue Max's training. Max is craving a person to call his own and will make that lucky person a wonderful, devoted, life long companion. Looking for a travel buddy? Someone to go running or walking with? Or maybe just a playmate and someone to snuggle with on these cold winter nights? Please contact Max's foster mom at Ld716@twcny.rr.com to find out more about this adorable, lovable little guy and how you can arrange a time to meet him.
