My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Beansy! I’m about 8 years old and kind of small at 15 pounds. When I came to Pug Rescue Austin, I had heartworms, seizures, and a collapsing trachea. I still “cough” a tiny bit because of my trachea, and I can’t take long walks because of that, but my heartworms are gone and the seizures are better! They say no one has adopted me because I’m a special needs pug, and they need to find a special family to take me in. I don’t think my needs are so special, though. I just need a lap, a pillow on the floor, food, and medicine to keep my seizures away. I need that medicine a few times per day, and now I only have seizures a couple times a month.

I enjoy running around in my foster family’s backyard and keeping an eye out for the big Lab next door, so I can bark at her if she comes out. I get along with my foster brothers just fine, and I am obedient and peaceful. I’ve learned to catch treats in my mouth and use a dog door, and my foster brother taught me how to twirl in circles when I’m about to be fed! Mostly, I want to be with my humans – I love my humans! They call me a “velcro pug” because I’m always right beside my foster mom’s or dad’s legs. My foster parents say I’m a great little dog, but they can’t keep me forever and I really can’t wait to settle down with my very own family. Won’t you please consider taking me in?
