My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jillian is our big & beautiful 5 year old female Tortoiseshell that arrived with her feline friend Ben on 11/16/13. Sadly, their owner had passed away and none of the family members were able to take the cats home so they surrendered them to our Humane Society. Both Jillian and Ben arrived weighing over 20lbs, and we knew we had some work to do to help them lose some of the extra lbs.

Jillian is a big sweetheart, and enjoys hanging out with the shelter staff and volunteers everyday. She gets along well with Ben, who pretty much lets her be the boss of their relationship. She has become used to being around the other shelter cats, and tolerates the ones that don't bother her (she is not fond of the young and wild cats/kittens that try to chase her around). They have not lived with a dog before, but they have encountered our mellow, cat-friendly shelter dogs and they just run the other way.

Jillian is down to 18lbs, and is currently on a weight control diet and we try to get her up and walking around everyday to get her exercise. She has lost 3-4lbs since arriving, but she could use to lose a few more pounds if it is possible. We are hoping to possibly place Jillian and Ben together in a home, as Ben is on the shy side and is getting braver by seeing Jillian walking around and visiting with people. He has come out of his shell and it would be so nice to adopt them into a home where they can live the rest of their lives together.

If you are interested in Jillian (and possibly Ben too) please contact us or stop by and ask to meet these 2 big and beautiful cats. Jillian has been spayed, vaccinated and will also be microchipped prior to adoption.

An approved adoption application is required to adopt an animal from our Humane Society. Our application form is available on our website or by contacting us for a copy. We accept completed applications via email, postal mail or at our office when you visit. Contact us with any questions, and check our website for more adoption information.
