My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Mocha; I am an 8 yr/old Shepherd mix. I may have some Husky in me. I was recently surrendered to a shelter when my family could no longer take care of me. As you might imagine, it has been a difficult adjustment for me. I have shown some guarding of my food, which is most likely related to the stress I am feeling right now. I am an older fella, so I am mellow, laid back, and low energy. I was recently out on a walk -- I enjoy a good walk! -- and decided to plop myself right down on the sidewalk for a cuddle session. I would love nothing more than some human people of my own to snuggle up with on a regular basis. I still have lots of affection and joy within me that I would love to share.

I lived with another male dog and a cat in my home, so I am comfortable in the presence of other pups. It seems like I prefer the company of a mellower pooch like me.

I am a sweet old soul just looking for a peaceful, loving retirement home. Might that home be with you? I sure hope so!
