COURTESY POST: Sheba is a brindle, 40 pound mixed breed dog rescued from an owner who intended to breed her to make money from the sale of her pups. She was very reserved and quiet. Too much so, in fact. She would huddle in the back of a crate and freeze up if someone even attempted to touch her. She wasn't able to socialize with either people or other dogs. So, after she was spayed, micro chipped, medically checked, and given all of her shots, off she went to board and train with Elite Dog Training. Sheba blossomed in her foster home. She now loves to play with other dogs and, although still shy, interacts with people well (although she is a bit selective). She is not at all aggressive (the reverse!) and gets along well with kids and cats. Sheba is best friends with Baby and would love to be adopted with him. He has helped her come out of her shell and we would love to see them go together. Elite Dog Training will provide, at no charge, several follow-up sessions in the adopter's home to insure that she makes a good transition and that the new owner knows how to maintain and build on her newly- acquired social skills. She's a sweetheart and has come such a long way. You will easily win her over with a nice long walk. She loves them.
To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. This does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs.
All of our dogs are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
