My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

B>Arrival story: Duke was pulled from a rural shelter where he was due to be sold to research.

Approximate age:5 Years - about 35 - 40 lbs.

Personality: Duke is currently in a foster home and so far he’s been nothing but a sweetie. Good, steady personality with an affectionate nature. Duke rarely barks, is housetrained, and is learning basic commands although he still pulls a little while walking on a leash. He is friendly with adults, children, and medium-to-large dogs. He is an active, fun dog who enjoys playing with his canine foster sister. He likes to throw balls and toys in the air and also loves to “chase” the snowflakes as they come down.
Although living in a home was foreign to him, he has adjusted well and continues to show good manners.

Forever home: Duke’s ideal home should have a larger canine playmate and a fenced-in yard. He has a strong prey instinct and will chase small animals, including cats and small dogs.

Duke is anxiously waiting for a forever home. Please give Duke a chance!

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175, or $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. With few exceptions, we show our adoptable animals on Saturdays from 12pm - 3pm at PetSmart in Canton (the northwest corner of Ford Rd and Haggerty Rd). Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
