Meet Tessa.
Tessa has had a tough past but you would never know by her attitude. She is 1 year old and about 30 pounds. She came to us a couple months ago from the Waterbury, CT Dog Pound where she had been for several months recovering from a broken jaw and skull. We were told she had her jaw wired shut for a full month. We do not know how the injury took place, but it has left her missing most of her teeth, which leads me to something extraordinary...
SHE DOES NOT NEED ANY SPECIAL TREATMENT
She eats dry food just like any other dog, she plays with toys just like any other dog, and she excels at playing fetch with a tennis ball! She even knows drop it.
She LOVES other dogs but needs help with introductions, as she spent most of her "puppyhood" in a clinic or a dog pound she never got to socialize properly. So she needs a friend that will be patient with initial introductions. Once that is out of the way, she is great with other dogs and absolutely loves their company.
As far as cats she is not aggressive but if they run she thinks she should chase them, you know for the cause.
She LOVES all people and I have never had a problem with her when it comes to children, still I think she should be in a home with no little ones based on the fact that she has been in a kennel for almost a year and can be exuberant. She could easily knock a kid down.
