My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ragan 7136.....entered the shelter 4/20/13.... Female, Walker hound mix; approximately 2 years old

She's my girl. Ragan is a middle-aged hound. She is sweet, unassuming, and shy. After a good romp in the grass sniffing for rabbits, we would sit down together. I would scratch her chest, then stop. She would not paw at me or jump on me, just move closer and look at me with her gorgeous eyes as if to say "Please? A little more?". She melts my heart. I think she'd make an easy pet as long as she was able to go outside and use her nose on occasion. She is a little shy with other dogs but does not react.

Ragan is a very sweet hound. I witnessed her vocalizing a few times when a car drove up to the shelter, but otherwise she is pretty quiet. She is very polite. When I stopped petting her, she didn't paw at me or push herself at me for more, she just looked at me and waited. She is easy to walk on a leash since she stops to smell every bug, flower, and blade of grass. When I started trotting with her she grinned from ear to ear and had a great time running in the field. I think she'd be a gentle house pet who'd also be happy to go for hikes and jogs in the woods.

This beautiful girl needs a home where she can give you unconditional love in return for a loving home where she can trust. Look at those eyes....she has a story to tell. Spayed, and up-to-date on shots. She is ready to go.... Contact us for an adoption application.
